When presented with our beloved National Anthem "The Star Spangled Banner" at any event/setting the following is the appropriate way of conducting One's self:
#1. If you have a head-covering (i.e Hat, Scarf, or any other derision) remove it and place it over your heart using right hand.
#2. If you don't have a head-covering place your right hand full open over your heart.
#3. Face the flag "Ole Glory"; if you cannot see the flag then face where the music is coming from.
#4. Stand at full attention (slightly bent knees because you do not want to pass-out). No moving around and no talking to others. No screaming or cheering during the playing (or performance thereof).
#5. Singing along is very much appropriate and is highly encouraged. Sing along with full pride and with demanding honor and respect.
#6. Do not have anything in your mouth (bubble gum, chewing tobacco, snuff, or dip). Do not drink any type of beverage or eat while the performance is on-going.
#7. After the performance is over then everyone is allowed to cheer and celebrate in a respectful manner. No rowdy displays of rudeness and otherwise disrespectful behavior. Do not expose yourself in any fashion.
Note: Applies to both Female & Male.
This act of Patriotism is to honor those who have died and given the ultimate sacrifice for our Liberties and Freedoms that we do have. ALL GAVE SOME, SOME GAVE ALL...Some stood true for the Red, White, and Blue, some had to fall...if you ever think of all your liberties, just recall...Some Gave All.
GOD BLESS & SHALOM! And GOD BLESS THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
